I was at home with my mom and I was listening the show from Japan and it was Incubus. I really like the idea and we need to get everyone involve and what a better way than by involving musicians that have such an impact on us. Especially the young audience.
Now what I didn't like is and I wonder, all that energy what was used to produce all these shows... I want to know if they use alternative energy? I think not. That would what it would made more difference. Thanks
Actually, I was listening to varying stations on Satalite Radio that broadcasted the Miami and New York performances. Many of the artists use hybrid busses, and put a portion of their ticket sales towards making it a carbon neutral event. So, I think the show most likely practiced energy conservation or used biofuels. If I find out for sure, I will let you know.
I tuned in on the various television stations airing the event. It was interesting to see people around the world focused on a common topic. On the downside, I did not find the commentaries that interesting or helpful. Not sure what would have been more effective. I think some of the criticism about the use of fuel, etc. was a bit unfair. I think the whole point was to help raise awareness.
I know what you mean about the commentaries, but it could be as you mentioned...about helping raise awareness. Much of it was - no doubt - common knowledge for many spectators; but for others, I suspect it was the first time hearing anything like this.
